Description
MULTI-POINT LOCKING MECHANISM (GU-2) - American Cylinder Hub Above Handle 3-5⁄8” Center-to-Center
A multipoint or triple-point lock has three latching points connected to an internal rod; one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom with a deadbolt in the middle. When the door is closed, all three latches are engaged simultaneously to latch the door in place. When the door is locked, the deadbolt is engaged.
If selecting Multi-Point Locking with no handleset hardware chosen, customer will need to provide their own multipoint handleset trim hardware to operate the locking mechanism. The door unit will typically be shipped with “construction handles” (plastic) that are intended to be used to operate the locking mechanism. These are to be discarded and permanent handlesets installed.
Handleset trim will need to be ordered that is compatible with GU Door Configuration 2, American Cylinder Hub Above Handle 3-5/8” Center-to-Center. Note: Multipoint handlesets will have a lever on both the inside and outside.
This is a great option on 8’0” tall doors since it provides multiple points of engagement along the height of the door. Also, a nice option for 6’8” doors.
Cannot be purchased separately.
