Handlesets & Locking

When selecting your door's handleset and locking hardware, it’s important to know what the difference is between a tubular lock and multipoint or triple lock and what impact each has on the door.

  • A tubular (single or cylinder) lock is has one locking point at the centre of one side of the door (handleset and deadbolt)
  • A multipoint or triple lock has three locking points connected to an internal rod, one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. All three locking points are engaged when the key is turned.

When selecting a handleset option, on a double if you want a handle on both sides (active & dummy) choose the option with active and dummy available.
