Requirements for adequate overhang protection: Installer must ensure proper protection requirements are provided where the door will be installed. All doors must be installed providing sufficient protection from exposure to weather including excessive moisture/rain as well as excessive heat due to sun exposure. This protection required includes adequate overhang distance that is at a minimum projection from the home at one half the distance from the floor of the overhang to the ceiling of the overhang. Additionally, the overhang should extend a minimum of 3 ft in width from each side of the door unit. Failure to provide adequate overhang protection will void the warranty.
All wood doors are constructed using floating panels. This construction method allows for expansion and contraction. Exposure to severe moisture such as rain in an unprotected environment may result in water penetration through the panels and is not considered a defect. In the event of water penetrating through the edges of the panels in this environment, it will be the consumers responsibility to caulk and or provide a remedy for the water penetration.

Staining or painting the door black or any other dark opaque colors will void the warranty. These colors cause harm to the wood components by absorbing excess heat/UV rays.

Description

MULTI-POINT LOCKING MECHANISM (GU-2) - American Cylinder Hub Above Handle 3-5⁄8” Center-to-Center

A multipoint or triple-point lock has three latching points connected to an internal rod; one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom with a deadbolt in the middle. When the door is closed, all three latches are engaged simultaneously to latch the door in place. When the door is locked, the deadbolt is engaged.

If selecting Multi-Point Locking with no handleset hardware chosen, customer will need to provide their own multipoint handleset trim hardware to operate the locking mechanism. The door unit will typically be shipped with “construction handles” (plastic) that are intended to be used to operate the locking mechanism. These are to be discarded and permanent handlesets installed.

Handleset trim will need to be ordered that is compatible with GU Door Configuration 2, American Cylinder Hub Above Handle 3-5/8” Center-to-Center. Note: Multipoint handlesets will have a lever on both the inside and outside.

This is a great option on 8’0” tall doors since it provides multiple points of engagement along the height of the door. Also, a nice option for 6’8” doors.

Cannot be purchased separately.
