Shipping Information

At Grand Entry Doors, we take great care in the packaging and delivery of your order to ensure it arrives safely and on time. Because our doors are oversized and heavy, all shipments are delivered via freight carriers and require careful coordination and preparation on your part. Please review the information below to understand what to expect and how to prepare for delivery.

How We Ship: Built for Protection

At Grand Entry Doors, we take shipping seriously. When you choose Grand Entry Doors, you are getting more than just a door. You are getting peace of mind knowing your investment is protected from the moment it leaves our facility until it arrives at your doorstep. Quality starts with the details, and that includes how we ship.

Every door we ship is fully crated in a custom-built wooden crate to ensure it arrives at your home or job site in perfect condition.

  • Before crating, each door undergoes a thorough quality control inspection to ensure proper fit, consistent reveals, and smooth functionality.
  • Each component is carefully wrapped and braced inside the crate for maximum protection.
  • For double doors, each slab is individually wrapped, and the frame is securely protected.
  • Our packaging results in an extremely low damage rate for doors shipped nationwide.
  • All shipments are insured for added protection.

How Our Competitors Ship

Many competitors ship their doors with knock-down frames, meaning the frame arrives unassembled and must be built on site. Others simply wrap door units in cardboard and place them on a pallet. This leaves them vulnerable to shifting, misalignment, and damage during transit.

Why Does This Matter?

A fully assembled, crated door ensures:

  • Easier installation with no frame assembly required
  • Superior protection that reduces the risk of costly damage
  • Factory precision maintained for a better fit and long-term performance

Where We Ship

We ship door units to residential and commercial addresses within the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, D.C.

We do not currently offer shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, Canada or other international locations.

Standard Freight (LTL) Delivery

All door units are securely crated and shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight service. Most carriers provide curbside delivery only.

Here is what you can generally expect during the delivery process:

  1. Scheduling: Once your shipment reaches the local freight terminal, the carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
  2. Delivery Notification: On or before the day of delivery, the carrier may notify you via phone, text, or email that your shipment is on the way.
  3. Curbside Drop-off: The driver will unload your shipment at the curb, driveway, or closest accessible location using a lift-gate or pallet jack. Delivery does not include setup, unpacking, or movement beyond this point.
  4. Signature Required: You or your representative must be present to inspect and sign for the delivery. The carrier cannot complete the delivery without a signed proof of delivery.
  5. Unpacking and Inspection: It is your responsibility to uncrate and inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt. If there is any visible damage or concern, it must be noted on the receipt. If crate damage is present, do not refuse the shipment. Our packaging is designed to protect the product even if the exterior appears worn or damaged.
  6. Responsibility for Moving the Product: Once the shipment is unloaded at curbside, it becomes your responsibility to move it to your desired location. Because our doors are heavy, we recommend at least two people be present at the time of delivery. Some oversized units may exceed the truck’s lift-gate capacity. In such cases, you will be responsible for unloading the unit from the back of the truck. While drivers may assist, they are not required to do so.

After Your Order Ships

  • You will receive an email with tracking details and the carrier’s contact information once your order ships.
  • The freight carrier will call to coordinate delivery once the shipment arrives at the local terminal.
  • All door units are shipped in secure wooden crates designed to protect them during transit.

Delivery Delays, Missed Appointments, and Storage Fees

  • If no one is available to accept delivery at the scheduled time, re-delivery fees will apply.
  • If the freight carrier is unable to reach you within two business days of terminal arrival, daily storage fees will apply (typically $30 to $50 per day).
  • We expect customers to be prepared to accept delivery within the lead time quoted plus transit time. If the customer is unable to accept the order when it is ready to ship, and storage is not feasible, we may cancel and refund the order less return freight and any incurred storage costs.

Changes to Address or Contact Information

  • Any changes to the shipping address or phone number must be received in writing before your order ships.
  • Changes made after shipment are subject to reconsignment fees (usually $150 or more) and may cause delivery delays.
  • Reconsignment fees must be paid before the shipment can be rerouted or rescheduled.

Additional Shipping Charges

We strive to calculate shipping costs accurately. However, in some cases, additional fees may apply due to:

  • Remote or limited-access delivery locations
  • Changes to the delivery address after shipment
  • Split shipments from multiple manufacturers

If additional fees are required, we will contact you before proceeding. You may choose to approve, modify, or cancel your order at that time.

What Shipping Does Not Include

  • Moving the shipment beyond the curb or into your home
  • Uncrating, unpacking, or installation
  • Removal or disposal of packaging materials
  • Coordination with contractors or installers

Delays and Limitations

While we work to meet all lead times, delays may occur due to weather, supply chain disruptions, trucking availability, or other circumstances outside our control.

Grand Entry Doors is not liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages resulting from delayed shipments or delivery issues.

If you have any questions before or after ordering, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help ensure a smooth delivery experience.
